Seahawks vs Buccaneers Preview: Throwback Uniforms, Defense Shines, and Score Prediction

The NFL calendar has rolled into October, and the Seattle Seahawks find themselves at 3–1, tied up with the Bucs in what could be one of the most watched matchups of the week. Not just because both teams have winning records with NFC implications in the balance, but because both will be rocking throwback uniforms. The creamsicle orange is back for the Buccaneers, and the royal blue jersey with silver helmets are back for the Hawks. Probably one of the coolest visual matchups of all time… it’s a shame the Bucs will have to lose in such a cool uniform.

At the quarter pole of the season, Seattle fans have plenty to smile about. The defense looks flat-out scary.. fast to the ball, shutting down big plays, and causing so much stress for opposing QBs that they’d rather be filing taxes than staring down the Hawks front line.

The Bucs have been scrappy, hanging tough behind a revitalized Baker Mayfield and a defense that can still generate pressure. But while their 3–1 record looks good, they haven’t faced a unit buzzing like Seattle’s. Let’s see what both of these teams are really made of this Sunday!

This game feels like a measuring stick. Seattle can plant themselves firmly in the NFC conversation with a statement win, and the Bucs get a chance to prove they’re more than just a quick flash. Plus, for Seattle sports fans, this Sunday is basically a doubleheader- watch the Hawks in the morning, and then roll right into Mariners playoff baseball later. That’s as good as it gets.

I genuinely see this game being lopsided. The Seahawks’ defense controls the game, the offense does enough, and by the time the 4th quarter rolls around, it’s already in the books.

Final score: Seahawks 30, Buccaneers 17

(and let’s be honest, Tampa’s last TD comes in garbage time—Seahawks put on cruise control through most of the 2nd half).
